[PressPoints Table of Contents] [From The Editor]

Welcome to PressPoints NetNews!

Here at 4 Points Press, besides creating and developing Websites for our growing customer base, we are committed, with the help of partnering with Microsoft Platforms and Content Reserve, also a Microsoft Partner, to launching a balanced eBook Forum. In partnering with Content Reserve, we also wanted to make sure that we had an area for Younger Readers. Thanks to the Harry Potter Books, more of our younger generation are leaving their television sets and concentrating on their computers, a viable and interactive medium. Our site, www.4pointspress.com is a work in progress, constantly honing its appearance and content so that we can promote an exciting new website which is primarily geared to focusing on the positive aspects of eBooks. We are making every effort to meet the ever changing needs of our readership.

We will soon be offering a new concept from Content Reserve, Open an eBook. Now in its infancy, Open an eBook is already launched on the Internet. This is a site targeted to general consumers, educators, librarians and industry professionals. Together we hope to educate people about the benefits of eBooks. Also, as a Content Reserve Partner, our intention is to make available a revolving library of promotional free, non-protected content in multiple formats that can be available for downloading by registered website users.

In that vein, we would welcome your submissions to lend out your full or abridged eBook material for unprotected download on our partnered sites. Please contact me directly, also, see our SUBMISSIONS page for details. Should you want to showcase your titles on our site as well as on our partnered sites, a nominal monthly fee per title will assure exposure to all visitors to the sites. Interested? Contact me for more information.

We now have an exciting new area of featured book titles that are available to us for use on our site. As we speak, Webmaster Laurel is in the process of preparing those titles for presentation in our READING ROOM. Besides our own in house titles, she is focusing on bringing you such e-titles as Nelson DeMille's "Up Country", Janet Dailey's "Show Me", both Fiction. We also plan to present the best selling "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff", and "It's Not Business-It's Personal". For the strong hearted SCI-Fi fan, we'll have three e-Books by Douglas Mason. He comes highly recommended by our assistant editor, Delvin Shrout (AKA - The Mad Duck) , as a highly adept weaver of strange Sci-Fi worlds populated by even stranger Sci-Fi people.

Also on our Webmaster's agenda is the daunting task of converting our own titles, which are currently being published for viewing on the Microsoft Reader, to the Adobe Format, which can be viewed on the Adobe Reader. Once those titles are completed we will have the capability of being able to offer our readership more complete choices in various formats. Watch for our updates.

FYI: New Fraud Policy Through our Shopping Cart provider, ValueWeb, it has come to our attention that they have experienced isolated incidents of customers trying to purchase our eBooks, 'The Oedipus Syndrome" and "Trilogy-Snippets of Three Lives" from our 4pointspress.com site using either stolen or unauthorized credit cards. Unfortunately, in spite of their and our best efforts to reduce the possibility of theft, there is no way to totally prevent these kinds of transactions from happening at this time. To that end, both ValueWeb and we are trying our best to address these issues of fraudulent transactions.

Well, that wraps us up for now. Cuddle up with your laptop or palm reader and enjoy an eBook!
