As a viable company on the rise in the publishing business, 4 Points Press has broken ground and entered onto the scene of community service. Even though our 4pointspress.org website has not yet made its formal debut, we have nonetheless, as part of our original plan, finally gotten our feet wet.
In addition to small cash and service in kind donations, which has already been spread over a palette of worthy causes, our biggest kickoff to date was cast into a one-time fund raising event for the Historic Italian Hall Foundation. Our exhibition video documentary, which represented a major project development for us, was an information and appeals presentation, its production spread over the last three months. At the Casa Italiana, our documentary brought home, to more than two hundred and fifty viewers, the near decaying hall's dire needs for further funds to augment the City of Los Angeles' generous grant of one half a million dollars, which is targeted for the halls partial renovation.
Held this past July 15th, Italian-Americans from all over the city came to generously champion The Friendraiser event and its cause. With the help of
Mr. and Mrs. George Graziadio, well-known philanthropists and co-founders of Imperial Bank, the body of supporters collectively donated over approximately $80,000 towards helping the hall's renovation project become a reality.
Here, at 4 Points Press Publishing Company, it hit home that our exhibition video documentary was an extremely gratifying and fulfilling project for us to work on. We are proud to have been a part of this historic endeavor. Now that the Historic Italian Hall Foundation has made the community well aware of its needs and goals and is well on its way towards breaking ground for the actual renovations of their museum, we wish them well and Godspeed.
