E-EVERYTHING is here to stay; I'm convinced of it now. As it is, the Internet seems to have pervaded our existence and it will soon encompass our lives. Does that sound familiar? Remember the start of television and how it quickly permeated the fabric of our culture and forever changed all of us and how we lived our lives?
By virtue of its dependency on the written word, the publishing field and how it does business is one of the many venues changed by the availability of a free, worldwide Internet. It has opened up massive opportunities for all of us, as individuals and as businesses, and we here at 4Points Press have taken full advantage of those openings.
Authors who generate subject matter, in many different forms, on all topics, can now self-publish free of the constraints of traditional publishing houses. In my opinion, they are on the verge of nurturing an information explosion. Many good authors who were previously doomed to be buried because of circumstances beyond their control, because the publishing field established a "bottom line" regimen, because they didn't write in a certain genre' and formula, can now walk into the open arms of the self-publishing world of the Internet and expose their writings.
4pointspress.com has slowly been building up its E-site content utilizing tools from this new field. We have solved many problems in trying to put established tools in place and we have survived many obstacles in learning how to interface with newer tools as they hit the market. We feel that by this coming fall we will be ready to join the Internet family of literary E-sites.
A few months back, we took on an ambitious project. We introduced a major novel in work by launching the first chapter of "The Oedipus Syndrome", a first E-Novel by Maria Giusto, on the 4pointspress.com E-literary site. Your moving response was beyond our expectations. We are grateful to all of you for so heartwarmingly receiving that preview and inquiring for the E-Book's publishing date.
Starting early fall, "The Oedipus Syndrome", an E-Novel of approximately twelve hundred pages, apportioned into E-Book sections, each section approximately one hundred and fifty thousand words, will be exclusively time released on our literary site, 4pointspress.com. For your consideration, a preview chapter will introduce each E-Book. You can order and download each E-Book, as it appears, paying for it either by check, money order or credit card, through our own shopping cart system.
E-Excerpts, E-Reviews, E-Etceteras of 4pointspress.com's content, as well as excerpts and reviews of content from our affiliate sites, such as Amazon.com, BarnesNoble.com, Fictionwise.com, etc., is accessible on our site. However, access to FREE first chapters of our E-Novels, E-Novellas, E-Short Stories, E-Travelogues, E-Zines, and E-Etceteras will be available by Free E-Membership Subscriptions. For downloading, Secure PDF (Portable Document Format) will be used, which can be read with the Microsoft Reader, which is free and downloadable from the Microsoft website. We will provide you with links to access that site.
Assistant Editor's Note:
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Maria Giusto for her mammoth, three-year effort in researching, drafting, writing, rewriting and finally editing "The Oedipus Syndrome". We are proud to be her publisher. Contact her on site or direct your e-mail to the
