DUBYA'S 100-DAY PROGRESS REPORT
by Marie Villarreal
I vowed last month that I would ease up on Dubya but he keeps irritating my pocketbook and me. I have serious doubts that I am going to get through the next three and a half years with my sanity and my ass -- ets intact. The e-mail, like our economy, reflects our reader's mixed feelings.

BIG K MART: HOME TO MARTHA STUART
by Charlie "Chuck" Odessa
The K Mart! Great Gosh! What a seedy place! I never thought that I would agree with Rosie O'Donnell about anything but on my last trip to K Mart this last week, my first in two years, I couldn't get her off my mind.

OCTOGENARIAN CLUB
by Martin "Marty" Crenshaw
My whole life elders have fascinated me. I don't know why that was but it was. As a child, I would seek our elders, stare at them, in awe, as they talked to me and stand in admiration of them. I remember questioning my fetish once, when I was very young. Was I going to be like them one day?

IMPROVING LIFESTYLES OF THE FOOD OVERINDULGER AND UNDERINDULGEE
by Alcamo "Al" Passagento
For the last few months we have been talking about stress, how it affects the overeater and the undereater and the devastating consequences it subjects both those groups to. Unfortunately, there is no getting away from the reality that stress is a fact of life in today's hectic, fast-paced world. But don't despair...

THE LAST OF THE PLOT MOTIVATORS
by Marie Villarreal
We are all familiar with these guys, the plot motivators; they make up who we are as human beings. No one likes to admit to possessing these qualities, these hush-hush personality traits, which some consider being character flaws and try to hide them, like catastrophic diseases.

THE COST OF FREE NEWSLETTERS
by Genviev Pannos
Reading through the editor's e-mail the topic of one of the letters caught my attention. Like the editor of the Langalist, a weekly subscription newsletter, I was surprised to see that a few of our readers questioned why we send out free newsletters and actually scoffed at the idea that newsletters cost money to produce. They can't phantom the cost of desktop publishing or how writing one email newsletter and then sending copies to a list of people can possibly cost anything.

REAPING THE REWARDS OF THE SUV
by Mac Meguire
Yesterday I traveled up and down "Dealership Row" as they call Brand Boulevard, here in Glendale, California. The new look the Row has taken on not only scares me but it shocks me. The main boulevard of Glendale, its lifeline, looks like a boomtown of old.

RULES FOR WORKING
by Jericho Van Orman
Whether at home or at my office I have very definite ideas on how I should work. I can't deal with last minute requests, so one of them is that I need plenty of time for a deadline. I had a boss once who would never give me my assignments the day before or even that morning of a deadline. He would always wait until midafternoon and then expect me to pound out original material by six that evening. Now there was a refreshing challenge!

DREAMERS FORUM
by Roy "Cliff" Evans
A lot of e-mail came our way about the symbolic dream article we did last month. They covered a wide variety of subjects. We sorted them and the most predominate subject of all of them had to do with the feeling of abandonement.

HOT E-MAILS -- HOT DICE
by Ha3ry Giusto
WHEW! Not only are your e-mails heavy but they're also hot! My editor forwards all response e-mail to me -- good and bad. I received a particularly hot one in my batch of e-mails at the end of the first week in May -- it came in two days after our PRESSPOINTS NetNews hit cyberspace! It sizzled my screen and I bet it sizzled the airwaves on its way to us!

A NATION IN CRISIS
by Nathaniel "Nate" Yaekel
It's not like we didn't know it was coming. Heck, we've been talking about it for years or at least we've been asking the questions and giving ourselves the answers we wanted to believe were true.
