We told you last month of the Historic Italian Hall Foundation's plans to hold a unique Friendraiser. July 15, 2001, from I:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., will start the celebration of their museum, located in El Pueblo de Los Angeles, in the old city park. The intended museum will be reconstructed from the ruins of an over one hundred year old building, which was originally constructed by the Pozzo Construction Company and acquired from the city in recent years. However, to meet their goal of having the museum ready for presentation to the public, they desperately need the community's help. Rosemarie Lippman, dynamo president of the foundation, and Guy Masciotra, event coordinator, cordially invites one and all to a free buffet dinner of salad, pasta, meatballs, sausage with peppers, wine, dessert and coffee. The event is to be held at the Casa Italiana, 1051 North Broadway, Los Angeles, California. As only the first 350 reservations can be accepted for this unique community event,

Yesterday I had the honor of taking some interior shots of the building for presentation at the upcoming July 15th Friendraiser. Looking around, I evaluated the present condition of the building. The total neglect the building had suffered over the years made my heart cry. The foundation needs more grants and a lot more pledged money to bring the museum back to its former pristine condition. Despite its need for money, the foundation is committed to bringing the building to the point where it would be able to compete with the other surrounding museums in the pueblo. Yet to draw up the plans to submit to bidding contractors, which is Phase II, the architects, however, have had their designs and renderings, Phase I, adopted by the city and the foundation. The building phase is where they need every concerned citizen's immediate help. They are appealing to the community at large for any services and funds they can contribute to this worthwhile project. Please send your pledges to us. We will greatly welcome and appreciate anything you can afford, from one dollar on up. We will forward your pledges to the right people, who will contact you on how to complete your pledge commitment.
