An Autobiography of the Ages
On a scale of 1 to 5: This is a 5 ! Read this Book Review for more information.

Book 1 by this same name was a great read! And what more can be said than was said in the first volume The Gulag Archipelago. That book involved us in the innocent victim's arrest and his transfers from one place to another across the Soviet Union until he finally reaches his last destination -- a hard-labor camp, where that book ends. Gulag Two plunges us headlong into his experiences and the fate of fellow prisoners, most tragically the women and the luckless children they bear. This chronicle paints a vivid picture of appalling inhumanity within the parameters of the author's emotional range of writing and, as its predecessor, Solzhenitsyn's powerful language makes this one too a page turner!
